Lk 4:4
Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” WEB
Luke had the living, spoken word of God in mind. Man is created as a social being that develops all its capabilities only when it is being engaged in a living fellowship with God, in a continuous conversation with Him. Where there is no such fellowship man gets sick in his soul and later often also in his body.
